Resolution Update

Some of you may be wondering how I am doing with my New Years Resolution. This is my two week (ish) update.

The eating has been GREAT. The first week of January, I posted all my food intake. The second week I did not. But Josh and I had mostly chili and a lovely Thai Vegetable Curry for most of the week for dinner and salads for lunch and smoothies for breakfast. The first week I ellipticaled maybe three times but the second I pumped up the pressure and ellipticaled four times in addition to doing Pilates everyday. I had a photo shoot at the end of the week to prepare for.

I measured my starting weight in January with goal of loosing 15 lbs. Five pounds of that we pure cookie weight from Christmas so that went away pretty easily in the fist week of eating well. What is interesting is that I ate better and worked out BETTER and more the second week but I only managed to drop an extra two pounds.

This week has been the most frustrating as I hit a plateau. I again did Pilates everyday except the weekends and ellipticaled four times for 45 minutes. At one point I actually gained a pound back, which I attribute to my building more muscle with my increased movement.

This week my weight has not changed. I am still about 7lbs down in total but the lack of downward motion this week has been depressing. However, this is an important time to point out that scales do not dictate nor indicate health. I FEEL better. I like moving like a fiend. I enjoy sweating and feeling my body move.  I don’t feel tired all the time or groggy and heavy like I was at the end of December. So whatever I’m doing is working. My body is much more toned.

So I will continue. Remember I started my resolution off with a goal weight I thought might be unattainable. And it may yet prove to be. But I don’t feel deprived with the life changes that I have made. I feel better, more alive and more aware. About the only complaint I have is that eating like an herbivore takes forever. And so does working out all the time. We all make decisions and priorities and for now this is mine and it feels good.

Thanks for the update. I am laying off meat and dairy for a while. I’ve lost weight!
